The New Way With Geometrics
Geometric patterns are nothing new in interiors, in fact for the past decade they’ve been a real go to for printed designs for walls, fabrics and accessories. In fact, they’ve become so prevalent, that you can find them in any high street store. So if you still love the look, as many of us do, then how do you keep it new, fresh and little bit different from everyone else’s basic take?
First up, say goodbye to the chevron. It’s long been a popular print, but the chevron has become a bit of design cliché these days. Instead, consider looking at more irregular, intricate geometric prints.
We love this new interiors collection from , which is a perfect example of this new wave of geometric prints. In a bold monochrome, interesting combinations of circles, triangles and squares replace the basic chevron, giving the piece a more bespoke, well-designed feel.
According to designers Anna and Grace, these more unusual patterns are tied with calm within the home, as well as mindfulness: “This collaboration is a celebration of the power of pattern to positively connect different areas of our daily lives. We've explored the fundamental shapes, rituals and textures that shape life and we hope it will help inspire people to consider pattern in a much deeper way.”
Another collection to check out for this season to achieve a new geometric look is from the Design Lab series. This brand has teamed up with designer Tamsyn Gambell for a series of armchairs, occasional pieces and even sofas in her intriguing geometric fabrics.
